Join Santa Cruz Opera Project for Enchanted Melodies, a 45-minute interactive fairytale opera perfect for kids, families, and the young at heart! Featuring live singing by soprano Emily Gallagher and pianist Caleb Yanez-Glickman—a highly acclaimed Los Angeles-based duo—this playful and participatory performance invites the audience to sing, dance, and help bring the story to life. The original tale follows a fairy princess who discovers her own storybook and must reckon with what it means to know the ending of your own story. Through this whimsical and heartfelt journey, Enchanted Melodies encourages children to trust themselves and follow their own unique paths. Set to music from operas and operettas based on classic fairytales, with an original story and English libretto by Emily Gallagher, this performance is fun, thoughtful, and appropriate for all ages.
